Jim Sharp
Board Member and Chapter Coordinator

Jim is a board member, coordinator and mentor with the Armadale Chapter which was set up with support from the then local member Tony Buti MP.

I’m originally from Melbourne and am now a retiree after a career in the law, mining and not-for-profit sector. Throughout my career I have lived and worked in Australia, PNG, Belgium and Canada.

I have always been a strong supporter of volunteering starting with the Fitzroy Legal Service in my younger days and more recently with Amnesty International where I was the National VP. I also volunteered at ASeTTS, a refugee support non-government organisation where I was the Volunteer Coordinator (and which is where I met our President, Danny McEvoy).

I believe that everyone should have access to a good education and be supported during their formative years, hence my interest in the Achievers Club. Being involved in the club has been immensely satisfying – it’s great seeing our kids and their families embrace the support we provide.

I hope we can continue to grow and support more kids in future!
